The Cultural Center welcomed young diplomats from friendly countries and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to a gala evening on the Diplomatic Workers’ Day, hosted by the Council of Young Diplomats (YMD) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. The evening also honored the fifth anniversary of the Moscow Diplomatic Club.
The event was opened by Alexander Alimov, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, who congratulated the participants on the professional holiday.
Vladimir Valerievich Kuznetsov, Director of the UN Information Center in Moscow, also addressed the guests of the evening, noting the high level of training and professionalism of young diplomats, which makes it possible to solve complex problems, conduct a constructive dialogue and successfully defend the state interests.
Ivan Valerievich Morozov, Chairman of the Veterans Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was the guest of honor of the evening. “The Diplomatic Workers’ Day reminds us of the exploits of former generations. On this day, we honor the memory of those who went to the diplomatic front in 1941 and fearlessly defended the interests of our Motherland. We are closely involved with the Council of Young Diplomats, strengthening intergenerational ties and preserving the traditions of the diplomatic corps.”
The evening culminated with the performance of the Central Border Guard Ensemble of the FSB, which presented beautiful vocal and dance performances. Brilliant performance of favorite songs from Soviet films left nobody untouched, and Russian folk dances introduced foreign guests to the Russian culture.
Creative works of students and schoolchildren – participants of the art action “Diplomacy: in the name of Peace”, as well as posters and chronicles of the World Festival of Youth and Students, were presented to the guests in the foyer.
