A cycle of educational events for children is launched by the Cultural Center

A cycle of educational events for children of primary and school age is being launched by the GlavUpDK Cultural Center. The first in a series of such meetings was the celebration of the International Puppeteer's Day, which has been celebrated annually on March 21 for 20 years.

By holding this event, the Cultural Center continues to promote and popularize the values of Russian culture. Children from Russia and foreign countries were invited to get acquainted with the history and traditions of puppet theaters, which are an example of truly folk art.

The event was attended by students of foreign schools representing Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, India, Indonesia, Iran, Nigeria, Taiwan, Tunisia and the Philippines. As well as pupils of the Boarding School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Lyublino social home, children from Donetsk and Lugansk, children of employees of GlavUpDK and branches.

“It was very important for us to unite kids from different countries, while inviting both kids from new territories and children with special needs to the event. We have compiled an interesting program that not only allowed the children to get acquainted with the craft of a puppeteer and the art of puppet theater, but also to have fun, relax, spend time in an amazing company of children representing different cultures and traditions,” said Olga Moiseeva, director of the Cultural Center.

The program of the event made it possible to feel the atmosphere of good fairy tales and creativity. The young guests took part in the educational animation program of the Balagan Russian mask theater headed by Viktor Grigorovich, they learned how to make finger puppets and figurines of fairy-tale characters with teachers from the House of Creativity on Vorobyovy Gory. The foyer featured Marina Suvorova's original dolls, each of which told her own story, as well as Elena Osminina's impressive magical 3D paintings.

The culmination of the holiday was the performance of Nikolai Zykov, the most titled puppeteer in Russia, the artist of the world stage, who captivated the audience in more than 50 countries. Fantasy puppets, incendiary musical compositions and incredible performance technique left the brightest impressions on the guests of the evening.

The holiday ended with treats from the Cultural Center and small souvenirs that will leave the children a long memory of the evening spent with friends.
