Alexandrov Ensemble performs at the Cultural Center
The Cultural Center hosted a gala evening called “We dedicate the music of life to you”, marking the 95th anniversary of the A. V. Alexandrov Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army. The event guests were heads of accredited diplomatic missions, military attachés, employees and veterans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and GlavUpDK.
The event started with a performance delivered by the Virtuosos Brass Band of the Petrovsky Cadet School. Conducted by Rostislav Kostomarov, the orchestra performed patriotic songs and other compositions dear to every Russian citizen. The brilliant performance of young artists, multiple award winners of creativity competitions, touched the hearts of members of the diplomatic corps: the cadets left the stage to rapturous applause.
Alexander Sukhoruchenko, GlavUpDK’s Principal Counsellor, gave a welcoming speech, wishing the guests a wonderful evening and a happy 95th anniversary of the A. V. Alexandrov Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army, which is celebrated this year.
The women’s choir of the famous ensemble conducted by choirmaster Olga Anatolievna Pikhterova gave a performance for the members of the diplomatic corps. They sang war songs and popular compositions. The highlight of the concert was the performance given by Valery Nikolaevich Gavva, the People’s Artist of Russia, the leading soloist of the ensemble.
The event guests became active participants in the concert and performed Radetzsky March by Johann Strauss with the artists keeping the musical rhythm conducted by O. A. Pikhterova.
The memorable concert program also included masterfully performed dance routine to tell the guest about the richness of the Russian folk dance.
