GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia brings young Russian and foreign diplomats together at the Cultural Center
The Youth Day in Russia is an official holiday aimed at developing the potential of young people and uniting generations. This year, President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing the official celebration of this day on the last Saturday of June.
The guests were representatives of diplomatic missions and the Moscow Diplomatic Club initiated by the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and foreign colleagues.
The event was attended by representatives of Abkhazia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Belarus, Bolivia, Burundi, Venezuela, Guinea-Bissau, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritius, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Senegal, Serbia, Syria, Somalia, Turkey, Uruguay, Uganda, Sri Lanka, South Sudan.
Vyacheslav Fatin, Head of GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia, greeted the event guests: “Ladies and gentlemen! I am glad to open the celebrations to mark the Youth Day. This holiday is traditionally celebrated in Russia to unite the younger generation. The GlavUpDK concert hall is welcoming young diplomats of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and their foreign colleagues from friendly countries. I would like to wish you a good evening and a peaceful sky above your heads!”
Konstantin Kolpakov, Chairman of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, also gave a welcoming speech. “Our club has brought together young diplomats from different countries for five years. According to our good tradition, we have met at the Cultural Center. I would like to express deep gratitude to GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia for this opportunity. We attach great importance to working with our young friends and appreciate advice of older colleagues. It is important for us to maintain the tradition of strengthening international friendly ties, and we will continue to put effort into doing this work. Happy holiday!”
The Phonograph Jazz Band conducted by People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Zhilin delivered a performance for the guests.
