The traditional reception dedicated to the Day of Russia was held on the 10th of June at the Cultural Center of GlavUpDK
On the 10th of June 2015 the traditional reception dedicated to the main national Russian holiday - the Day of Russia was held at the Cultural Center of GlavUpDK. The event was attended by heads and employees of diplomatic missions with spouses, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and other Russian officials.
The keynote of the event was the theme of Russia’s rich national culture with its unique ethnicity. The guests of the reception had an opportunity to admire an art exhibition held in the lobby of the Cultural Center called “The Soul of Russia”, which included artwork of famous Russian artists Е.Romashko, V.Shilov, А.Dubova, Е.Stutz and L.Radevitch. Another sculpture exhibition was also presented to the guests called “Diverse Russia,” whose author is a member of the Creative Artists Union of Russia О.Tzkhurbaev.
In his felicitations with the upcoming Day of Russia Mr.Pashko, head of GlavUpDK underlined that the Main administration pays a lot of attention to introducing the rich historical and cultural heritage of Russia to the diplomatic corps
A memorable event for the guests of the evening was the performance of the State Academic Russian Folk Choir named after M.E. Pyatnitsky. This unique music band is famous for collecting and performing folk songs in dialects from all over Russia for more than a hundred years. During their performance it seemed as though the stage of the concert hall transformed, making room for the endless Russian fields, Cossack villages and Mother-Volga, and all the things praised in Russian songs. An excellent performance of merry dance scenes and heart-felt songs by the choir and orchestra caused an ovation among both foreign and Russian guests.
A ceremonial reception was held after the concert.
