The Cultural Center of GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia hosted a presentation showcasing the economic, investment and tourist potential existing in the Vologda Region. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Vologda Governor Georgy Filimonov as well as foreign diplomats, Russian dignitaries and business community representatives attended the event.
In his welcome address for the guests, Sergey Lavrov drew attention to the achievements the region secured in various areas and commended its government's successful efforts focused on developing foreign contacts with MFA's support.
Georgy Filimonov introduced the audience to the promising projects, economic opportunities, cultural and historical heritage, unique traditions and plans in the region to expand its international and foreign trade relations.
In particular, he said that the Vologda Region is a strategic industrial center and a farming territory with a one-of-a-kind tourist potential in the country. He also presented two key investment platforms in the region, its two special economic zones.
The Cultural Center lobby featured an ambitious exposition showcasing the variety of opportunities the Vologda Region offered.
