Reception to commemorate the 70-the anniversary of Great Victory for veterans of the Great Patriotic War and diplomatic corps of Moscow


On April 27 a ceremonial reception to commemorate the 70-the anniversary of Victory for veterans of the Great Patriotic War was organized by the Council of Aspiring Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Cultural Center of GlavUpDK with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia located at: Ulof Palme Street 5. The honorable guests of the evening were veterans of the Great Patriotic War, war workers and elder diplomats.

At the entrance the guests were greeted by a military orchestra, and there was an exhibition of rare documents, photographic and video materials of 1941-1995 on display in the lobby of the Cultural Center from the foreign affairs Archives of Russia.

The reception concert played musical pieces of war years performed by laureates of international competitions and members of the "Voice" show.

An exhibition of children's paintings "I don't know what war is" was a separate present, prepared by art school pupils.

"There is nothing more valuable than passing the baton from one generation to another. Even in everyday human interactions this process is of particular value. I believe that this is so for us and for the youth," —underlined in his speech the retired embassy and chairman of the council of veterans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Kazimirov.

After reception a letter of gratitude was received by GlavUpDK from the Council of Aspiring Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which stated that the event demonstrated high interest of the diplomatic corps to the anniversary of the Great Victory, enabled honoring and expressing respect to our veterans and emphasized the high level of organization of the event.

The honoring of veterans in the Cultural Center of GlavUpDK with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia was in the spotlight of a number of mass media. In particular, the event was covered in a news broadcast on Channel One.
